KARACHI: A young girl and her male cousin have been murdered allegedly in the name of honour for taking selfie together, ARY News reported.
According to details, mother of 19-year-old Marina claimed that her daughter was poisoned to death for taking selfie with her young cousin Salman in Orangi Town Pirabad area, Karachi, on November 7. While, an unidentified person shot Salman dead later upon arriving in Swat.
Police are reportedly facing hurdles in the case as investigation is underway but mother of the girl is not cooperating with police despite registering the case.
Police said they were waiting for mother of the victim to come back from Swat so that they could exhume the girl’s body.
Marina’s paternal uncle is suspected to be behind Salman’s murder.
This should be noted that father and grandfather of the girl had termed her death a suicide. While, her mother moved court and gave her stance that Marina was poisoned to death.
